After a slight break in the action, we are back to work on the house! They broke ground (or really "tile") today on the bathroom, as the demolition began. As promised, a few "before pictures." The picture below shows the really useless space between the shower and the wall that will soon become part of the shower. (Note: pictures are really hard to take in this small space.)
(And yes, you would have thought I would have cleaned off the counter before taking pictures but I wanted a realistic shot!)
Unfortunately, what they found behind those walls was really quite disgusting. They are going to have to repair some of the support for the walls as it is clear that there is a fair amount of water damage and gross stuff behind the shower tiles. I'm just glad I wasn't here to see the bugs Margaret and Forrest saw when they pried off the shower walls!
