Today was the day of the big foundation pour - so much excitement, I had to work from home to watch. Margaret, Forrest and Daniel were here at 7:30 to be ready for the pumper and the concrete truck at 9 am. It is quite an operation - the pumper starts attaching his hose to the concrete truck before the driver even gets out, since they are on the clock. (Forrest explained that you get so much time depending on how much you order - after your time is up, it is about $3 per minute they are there.)

They pretty quickly filled the hole under the house, then did half the foundation before going back and doing the rest. The holes to support the deck were the last part filled.

All in all, it went well, with the exception of Forrest dumping the hose down his back...and he told me he was experienced in this construction business!
